Privacy
The short version
I don't care to, nor do I have any need to, keep or sell your personal data. Email addresses used for joke-approval notifications are deleted after the notification is sent. Joke subscriptions collect only the bare minimum needed to deliver them. This site uses Google Analytics to understand how the site is used and where it can be improved.

Information this site handles
- Joke submissions: the joke, tags, and submitter name you choose to provide. Approved jokes and submitter names are published on the site.
- Reactions: your IP address and browser user-agent are stored with the joke to prevent duplicate reactions. They are not displayed publicly.
- Basic operations: the web server may temporarily record request information such as IP address, time, requested page, browser information, and errors for security and troubleshooting.
- Google Analytics: when analytics is enabled, Google Analytics records page and interaction data, approximate location, and browser/device information. NCJM does not intentionally send joke text, submitter names, email addresses, reaction fingerprints, or raw search terms as Analytics event parameters.
Email features
Email features may not be available yet. If you ask to be notified when your joke is approved, the address is used only to verify the request and send that notification. It is deleted after delivery or when the request expires.
If you separately subscribe to a recurring joke email, the site keeps only the address, consent and delivery status, and the minimum technical information needed to confirm, send, unsubscribe, and handle delivery failures. Approval notification does not automatically subscribe you. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Cookies
The site uses essential cookies or equivalent browser storage for security and requested preferences. Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish visits. You can block or delete these cookies using your browser or browser extensions without losing access to the site.
Service providers
Information is shared only when needed to operate a requested feature—for example with hosting infrastructure, Google Analytics, reCAPTCHA, and an email-delivery provider when email features are enabled. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments. NCJM does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Links and embedded media from services such as PayPal, YouTube, or SoundCloud take you to or contact those services, whose privacy policies then apply.
Retention and choices
Public joke content remains until it is edited or removed. Other records are kept only as long as they are reasonably needed for the purpose described above, security, backups, or legal obligations. You may block or delete cookies using your browser or browser extensions.

This notice may change as the site adds features or providers. The date above will be updated when material changes are made.
